"Unge inviterte" is yearly exhibition series where we invite artists with a painting practice who graduated from an art academy in the previous year. Through this exhibition series, LNM aims to provide the audience with insight into how upcoming generations approach painting, as well as offer newly graduated artists a platform to exhibit their work.
In the 2025 edition of "Unge inviterte," we have invited Anine Aasen, Per-Erik Larsen, and Susanna Antonsson. All three completed their Master's degree at the Academy of Art in Bergen (KMD) in 2024.
Exhibition period: January 9 – February 9, 2025
Anine Aasen (b. 1992, Oslo) lives and works in Bergen. She primarily works with painting, exploring different ways of combining the figurative with the abstract, and is interested in how different painting techniques and materials interact and influence each other. Sources of inspiration include color, everyday objects, craftsmanship, interiors, and space.
Aasen completed both her Master's and Bachelor's degrees at the Academy of Art in Bergen (KMD) and has exhibited at venues including Bergen Kunsthall (2024), Høyersten Contemporary (Bergen, 2024), ASPN (Leipzig, 2023), Stockholm Furniture Fair (2023), Kiosken Studio (Bergen, 2022), Tag Team (Bergen, 2022), and Not Quite (Fengersfors, 2022).
Per-Erik Larsen (b. 1985, Larvik) works in Laksevåg, Bergen. His artistic practice is based on printmaking and painting processes. In interaction with material influences, he creates artworks that emphasize the tension between motif and material. Drawn towards abstract and process-based expressions, he works broadly with various techniques and methods in the creation of paintings and objects.
Per-Erik Larsen has a Master's degree from the Academy of Art, KMD UiB, as well as a Bachelor's degree from the Bergen Academy of Art and Design and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. He has exhibited at venues including Hordaland Kunstsenter (2021) and Galleri Knipsu (2021), and participated in the Autumn Exhibition (2019) and the Østlandsutstillingen (2022).
Susanna Antonsson (b. 1991, Linköping, Sweden) is a Swedish artist based in Bergen. Working primarily with painting, she is interested in depicting that which is easily overlooked, the common place, and moody mysteries. Working in small formats, her motifs are painted in thin layers, creating subtle shifts in tone and nuance. She often repeats motifs as an exercise in freeing herself from the pursuit of originality in favor of concentrated attention.
Antonsson holds a Master's degree from the Academy of Art in Bergen (KMD) and has previously exhibited at venues such as Hordaland Kunstsenter (2024), Kristiansand Kunsthall (2024), Galleri Knipsu (2023), and Tag Team Studio (2022).
